Being tight fisted

In Acts 4:32–37, we see a powerful picture of open-handed faith—the believers were of one heart and mind, and “no one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” This stands in sharp contrast to the tight-fisted spirit that so easily grips our hearts today. When we hold tightly to our time, our money, our plans, or even our pain, we’re really saying we trust ourselves more than God. But surrender means loosening that grip—trusting the Lord to use what’s in our hands for His glory. The early church thrived not because they had abundance, but because they had open hands and surrendered hearts. When we stop clenching our fists and start opening our palms to God, He fills them with peace, purpose, and provision far greater than what we were ever holding onto.
